Ferdinand FACZINEK

It almost started twenty years earlier! The Czechoslovak Ferdinand Faczinek almost signed for Racing in 1937, but as a player. It was indeed with Strasbourg that he made his first trial in France, during a friendly match against Sochaux. But it was finally Sochaux who won the race for the Czechoslovak international (8). His story with Alsace therefore continued in the summer of 1957 after a remarkable stint as coach of Niort, which he had raised to the highest amateur level. At Racing, Ferdinand Faczinek succeeded in getting the team promoted from the first season. But promotion was difficult to achieve, and the coach fell out of favor with the management. He was known for his very relaxed management style. He would even sometimes let his captain René Hauss lead some training sessions.
